Fairies and Mushrooms

We’ve had an appearance of mushrooms in our outdoor classroom. The children think they belong to the fairies!

One morning, to our surprise we discovered a real fairy garden. We looked through the windows of the houses to see if we could catch a glimpse of a fairy.

There were milk bottles left outside the fairy door, so the fairies probably had not had their breakfast.

Their bench was empty.

The mushrooms provided very good shelter from the rain.

We have been busy creating our own fairy gardens in class.

The fairies have been inside our classroom. We found their muddy footprints on the table top and they had left their pots and pans, which they had used to cook their dinner.

On our way to Forest school we looked for evidence of Forest Fairies. We found windows and doors in the trunks of the trees.

In the middle of the forest we found the same mushrooms we found outside our classroom. Perhaps this is where the fairies really live!

New intake at St. Chad's!

We have been settling into our new environment.

Some of us have been curious, finding out and exploring objects and the world around us.  We have been developing particular interests and have been willing to try new experiences.

Many activities have created high levels of engagement. Sometimes we have persevered when difficulties have occurred and we have kept on trying until we have succeeded!

We have enjoyed a sense of achievement too.

We have our own ideas and ways of doing things and use our imagination in our play.

Our first Forest School session was an adventure and the bikes and trikes had a trip out too in the great outdoors!
