St. George's Day

The children have returned to school refreshed and raring to go!

The beanstalks have grown rapidly over the Easter holiday and we have now planted them on mass, in our outdoor classroom area. Amy’s beanstalk grew the tallest!

We have planted some fruit trees on the infant playing field. These trees were donated by the Greenfield Tesco Store, so a big thank you to them!

The tadpoles have hatched out and are swimming around in our pond. They are now beginning to grow their back legs.

The children have very much enjoyed designing and making their own armour, shields , swords and flags in response to St. George’s Day. Following on from this, the children will be looking at ‘beetle armour’ in the world of the minibeasts.

Outside in the fine weather,  the children have had several successful bug hunts in the school grounds. The children have been exploring how to house minibeasts, thinking carefully about what they might need.

Next week the children will be finding out a bit more about minibeasts in terms of sub-groups and the variety of species.
